6.2 Retractions and replacements

Licensors that have sent a CDM Statement in error may completely retract this CDM Statement by sending a second CDM Statement marked as a retraction in the Profile Cell of the header Record.

To achieve this, in the header Record of the retraction, the RelatedCDM Cell shall contain the MessageId of the CDM Statement that is to be retracted with the MessageCreatedDateTime indicating the date and time that the retraction CDM Statement was created. Other than the header Record, the retraction CDM Statement shall only contain a footer Record.

The licensor may then follow-up this retraction with a further CDM Statement that replaces the erroneous CDM Statement orignally sent. All three of the CDM Statements involved in such a message exchange shall have unique MessageIds.

If a licensor sent a CDM Statement and subsequently sent a message containing corrections to that original CDM Statement and it then transpires that the second message also needs correcting, the licensor must first retract the second CDM Statement (which contained data correcting the original CDM Statement) before it retracts the original message.

CDM Notifications cannot be retracted.
