5 Choreography
The CDM standard supports the choreography depicted below in Figure 1. As with all DDEX standards, the use of the CDM messages contained in the CDM standard is voluntary and may be subject to bilateralcommercial arrangements between the licensees and the licensors. Specifically, the timing of the sending of any CDM message created in accordance with the CDM standard, is determined by the bilateral agreement between the licensee and the licensor.
In this choreography, all right share claim data is communicated between the licensee and the licensor in response to a DSR Message created in accordance with the DSR standard sent by the licensee to the licensor.
Figure 1 and Table 1 describe the point in the relevant business processes when the CDM messages are generally exchanged. The invoicing process which is a result of the rights claiming process is out of scope for any DDEX standards. The use of an acknowledgement message is optional.
